# Entering the Valley of the Kings

[Entering the Valley of the Kings! This is an archaeological site that has uncovered 63 tombs, 21 of which were Pharaoh resting places. Each tomb is given a number starting with KV. The numbers represent the order in which they were discovered. Many of the tombs were empty when discovered, having been raided in centuries past but the most famous find in this valley is the tomb of Tutankhamen. A complete and sealed tomb containing all of the treasures along with the sarcophagus and mummified remains. There is still work being done in this valley as they have not yet located the tomb of Ramesses VIII (where VII and IX have been found).
