Temple of Philae
An early start to visit the beautiful Temple of Philae. This is an unusual Temple as it is located on a small island on the Nile, the island of Philae. The Temple used to be on a different island, just a few hundred metres away. A UNESCO project in the 1970s, moved the temple very carefully and accurately to Philae, as the previous location was becoming submerged in the Nile waters. It is almost completely underwater today. You can still see the water line on the stones.
